Nowadays with all those teeth whitening products available on the market it should be easy for all of us to obtain beautiful white teeth. We all dream of being able to smile self-confidently at people, without having to hide that smile that can make somebody’s day!

The two major teeth whitening systems are teeth whitening gels and trays.
Teeth whitening gels are less aggressive and work on an oxygenation principle. The oxygen elements in the gel penetrate into the surface of your teeth altering the compounds of the plaque by bleaching. These gels will not actually remove the plaque effectively; they will only change the color. On the other hand they will not damage your teeth’s enamel and will respect the tooth’s structure.
If you use teeth whitening trays, these products will allow you apply the gel evenly on your teeth and fill in all the cracks. You will also be using less gel, but will have to keep the trays in your mouth for longer. An advantage with teeth whitening trays is that you can use them for many years to come; they will be less expensive on the long term.
Before you start any treatment, make sure you record the color of your teeth before using the product. You can get shade guides, either with the home kits or at your local store.
Once you have successfully obtained your beautiful white teeth try and keep them white. Do not panic if you notice the color fading rapidly once you have finished with the treatment. Unfortunately this happens, but it is interesting to note, that the higher the concentration of bleach you use, the faster you will lose the sparkle in your beautiful white teeth. This means that home teeth whitening will actually last longer than costly professional treatment. Fading is a natural consequence, but regular teeth brushing and repeating teeth whitening treatments from time to time will help preserve your beautiful white teeth.
